This weekend, the people of Thessaloniki will have a wonderful opportunity to visit the Thessaloniki Animation Festival (TAF). The event celebrates animated film in all of its forms. Passion for animation
The organizers of TAF are people from the Thessaloniki based NGO Addart, which are also art lovers and passionate animators. It is thus no surprise that the selection of presented movies contains the most delicate animations that have been made around the globe in the past few months. Apart from the screenings, the visitors of TAF can also look forward to numerous workshops and Master Classes, where they have a possibility to gather inspiration or talk directly to the directors and guests of the festival. Among the guests of the festival, we find names like:
- Tim Allen,
the main animator at Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs - Nick & Nancy Phelps, music composer in animation movies
- Federico Vallarino from Toon Boom.
- Irida Zioga will present her new successful MAN WANTED project
- Nikos Deligaris who will present the psychology and importance in the composition and color of the image.
Introducing the special section
This year, for the first time in its history, the TAF also hosts a special section on the subject of “AnimEARTH”, which is a tribute to environmental education and lifelong learning through short animated films. For children, there will be screenings and workshops on Saturday and Sunday. The TAF will also feature a short animation film competition and there will be awards in various categories.
