This Sunday 2 of February 2025, we participated in the Alkis Run in Thessaloniki, a solidarity run in honor of Alkis, the 19 year old supporter got killed due to sport fanatism. Surrounded by many volunteers, we covered this emotional event where solidarity truly took center stage. It was a day filled with emotion, unity, and deep respect for Alkis’s memory. Thank you to everyone who showed up and to all the participants for their presence and support. Together, we showed that sports can be a force for peace and remembrance.
Objectives of the run race:
To pass on the following messages through mass participation:
- We run to honour the Panhellenic Sport Fan Day
- We are running to honour the memory of Alkis Kabanos
- We run in the jerseys and colours of the teams we love because it is our right and a symbolic gesture against fan violence
