Ways to help from Thessaloniki to the fire victims

We are located far north of Evia and Attica, so our help may not be immediate enough, but it can prove to be effective and critical.

Many different organizations, volunteers, small or large companies as well as the Red Cross, have begun efforts to send goods from Thessaloniki to the fire victims.

Fires have been very severe in different areas from Greece. Yellow Radio

Coffee Island:

The coffee production company has used its stores throughout Thessaloniki as aid pipelines to Southern Greece. The collection of goods will be open from Sunday 8/8 until Thursday 13/8, from 10.00 am to 20:00 pm.

Municipality of Kalamaria:

The Municipality of Kalamaria also collects goods at the City Hall of the area, starting from Sunday 8/8, until 12/8, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Keep in mind that the place is not the municipal pharmacy Papanikola, but the City Hall.

Lagadas:

The address where people can offer food and personal hygiene items is: 11th Dodecanese str. and 7th km of Thessaloniki, opposite Titan.

Available days and hours of operation: Monday (at Megastore), from 9:00 to 19:00.

Center of Thessaloniki:

Battlenet 3D at Aristotelous, an electronic games company, offers its services at 40th Vasileos Irakliou str.

At 50th Ermou street, they are looking for medicines and sanitary material, such as: Fucidine, pulvo, betadine, ointments for burns, cotton, gauze, bandages, saline, antihistamine ointments, antiseptics, adhesive gauze for wounds, cold sprays for wounds, aspirins.

The need for any kind of collection of animal feed and mattresses, in which the Municipality of Thessaloniki also helps, is considered imperative. Those who have the ability to meet the aforementioned needs, can contact the authorized Municipal Councilor for Civil Protection actions, Vassilis Moissidis, at the phone: 6955511547.

The gathering will take place in the foyer of the Municipal Center of Thessaloniki, 24 hours a day, contact phone: 2313 317777.

The account of the Red Cross was opened, with the aim of strengthening the fire victims, but also the animals in Varybobi, Patras, Rhodes, North Evia and Ancient Olympia. Citizens who are interested, can deposit any amount of money in the following account:

The company of donuts and various confectionery products, also fights for the relief of the fire victims.

ACS and ELTA:

The transport companies also help in alleviating the burden that Southern Greece is called to face.

ACS undertakes the free delivery of parcels to the fire victims. There is, in fact, a large network of trucks, which will help in the immediate and large volume of transport.

The ACS announcement:

“As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that our company consistently follows, and in collaboration with its Pan-Hellenic Branch Network, from today Friday 6/8/21, it offers free transportation services to those bodies / NGOs / Municipalities that collect essential items for the cases of humanitarian aid missions to the victims of the catastrophic fires that affect our country.

Interested parties should deliver the collected essential items to the ACS stores in sealed packages, in cartons, clearly marked “Προς πυρόπληκτους”, and with full recipient details (name, address, postal code, telephone) at the destination. It is clarified that in terms of food shipment, only long-term packaged food is allowed to be transported in plastic or paper packaging (not glass).

We thank you for your cooperation and support and we wish a speedy recovery to those affected by the fires “.

The Hellenic Post follows the same tactics, with the following announcement:

“ELTA Courier undertakes free of charge the shipment of essential items and goods that will be collected for the victims of the catastrophic fires that affect our country. All those interested can deliver the basic necessities to all the stores of the ELTA Courier network, stating that it concerns the fire victims, with details of the recipients.

All of us at ELTA Courier consider it our moral obligation to support in our own way, those who really need us during these difficult hours, with respect to their anguish!

** Regarding the shipment of food, it is allowed to transport only packaged long-lasting food only in plastic or paper packages.
